Kid-Centric Care

At Shore’s Pediatric Care Center we realize that caring for your child is much more than technology and skills. It requires an organization-wide commitment to making every aspect of your child’s hospital stay as positive as possible. Our child life specialist uses play therapy to help children adjust to being hospitalized and learn about their medical condition.

If surgery is required, the child life specialist is a friend who accompanies your child into the operating room, providing a comforting and familiar face before and after surgery. A special child-friendly surgical lounge enables you to stay with your child, during sedation and again after surgery.
