Shore Medical Center Nutrition Therapy Program

Good nutrition is more than just eating right. It’s about making the right choices about the foods you eat every day. Whether it’s increasing your daily servings of fruits and vegetables, or switching from whole milk to one percent, making smart nutritional choices starts one serving portion at a time.

Shore Medical Center’s medical nutrition therapy program is designed to educate people about making the right food choices, thereby helping them to stay healthy, return to good health, or manage chronic medical conditions that could lead to more serious health problems.

As part of Shore’s program, patients meet with a registered dietitian, who will review and discuss the person’s diet in relation to their overall health and existing medical conditions, if any. Among the medical issues which can be addressed as part of the program are diabetes, weight loss, cardiovascular disease, diverticulitis, celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease and many other dietary related conditions.

Appointments with a registered dietitian are available every Friday and can be made by calling 609-653-4600, press option 1, 1 and then 3. A physician referral is required and most insurance plans are accepted.
