Healing Humor Program

A lively bunch of volunteers, complete with shiny red noses, big feet and colorful makeup, are part of the Bumper “T” Caring Clowns program at Shore Memorial. The clowns can be seen throughout the hospital visiting patients, giving hugs and sharing smiles with everyone they meet.

The clowns receive specific training on how to use humor to aid patients, family members and staff in the healing process. They also attend sensitivity training designed for those who work in a hospital setting.
