The best cure for any disease is to prevent it in the first place. Towards that end Shore Medical Center offers wellness education, newsletters and magazines, and community outreach to help the entire family get, and stay healthy.
Taking wellness into area homes is Health Today, the hospital's weekly television show, that proves that even couch potatoes can be healthy. Staying active is also the key to good health. The hospital's Volunteer Program and the Shore Medical Center Auxiliary provides many ways to have fun and at the same time give back to your community hospital.
Shore Medical Center's Wellness Program provides ongoing prevention, screening and educational offerings for men, women, seniors and children and is one of the most comprehensive programs in the region. Its ongoing goal is to identify community health needs and respond with appropriate prevention programs.
The United Way of Atlantic County
Even if life seems full of problems, finding help shouldn't be one of them.
A first step for help is New Jersey's 2-1-1 Non-Emergency Helpline. Funded in part by United Way of Atlantic County, 2-1-1’s two regional call centers can provide you with information about health and human service agencies in your community and statewide.
The service is free and confidential, and multilingual operators are available to assist callers. Visit http://www.nj211.org/ for more information.
