Application Requirements

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum total of 15 college-credits with a grade of "C" or above in the following categories: Please note: Math & Written category is required & remaining credits should be spread between the other categories.
    • Mathematical/Logical reasoning (required) (ie. College Algebra)
    • Written/Oral communications (required) (ie. English 101)
    • Arts & Humanities (ie. Intro to Psychology)
    • Information Systems (ie. Intro to Computers)
    • Social/Behavioral Sciences (ie. Sociology 101)
    • Natural Sciences (ie. Anatomy and Physiology I)
      • Courses must be completed through a college accredited by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and/or Counsel for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Credits obtained outside the U.S. must be translated by an International Education Credential Evaluation Organization.
      • Courses MUST be completed BEFORE the start of Open Enrollment.
  • Applicants must be high school graduates or possess a GED.
  • Applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age by the first day of class.
  • Applicants must possess gross and fine motor skills, speaking, reading, and hearing capabilities.

Applicants, if chosen to participate in the program, will be scheduled for a physical examination, drug test, and will undergo a criminal background review.

Eligibility requirements for ARRT certification in Radiography

By January 1, 2015, all candidates must posses at least an associate degree from a college accredited by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and/or Counsel for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in order to be eligible to apply for the National American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Examination.

The degree will not need to be in radiologic sciences. The degree requirement will apply to all graduates from any radiography program on or after January 1, 2015.

Criminal Background Review

A criminal background review will be performed to verify if a student has any past felonies or misdemeanors on record. Misdemeanor charges or convictions that occurred while a juvenile (under 18) and that were processed through the juvenile court system are not required to be reported. Misdemeanor speeding convictions are not required to be reported unless they are related to alcohol or drug use. All alcohol and/or drug related violations must be reported. If it is found that the student falsified any statement on their admission application regarding a felony/misdemeanor they will be dismissed from the program.

Prospective students who have a past conviction of a misdemeanor/felony must undergo an ethics review conducted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) before applying to the radiology program. Please note, clearance by the ARRT Ethics Committee does not guarantee program acceptance.
