Shore Memorial Hospital is proud to announce that Chief Information Officer Fred Banner has been named to the hospital’s Executive Team as a Vice President.
Banner joined Shore Memorial in 1990 as a PC Specialist. Over the next 20 years he went on to hold a number of positions within the organization, most recently that of Chief Information Officer until this appointment, which was made official in September.
In addition to leading the organization’s overall IT technology plan and strategy, Banner oversees Shore Memorial’s Telecommunications, Biomedical and Health Information Management teams.
Prior to joining Shore Memorial, Banner served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. After an honorable discharge, he served as Operations Manager for Bacharach Institute of Rehabilitation in Galloway Township.
Mr. Banner holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Kennedy-Western University and is certified in Professional Health Information Management. He serves on the Electronic Medical Records Exchange-South Jersey Board and has been an Advisory board member of the Atlantic County Institute of Technology since 2004.
Banner is a member of the Shore Memorial Stainton Society, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Veterans Association.
Banner lives in Marmora with his wife of 13 years, Sonya, and his two daughters Hanna, 11, and Ashley, 5.
