Shore Memorial Hospital’s November Employee of the Month Recognized for his Reliability and Outstanding Patient Care

November 15, 2010

Resourcefulness and exceptional patient care have earned Ed Valentin Employee of the Month honors for November.

Ed Valentin joined the Shore family in 2003 as a board-certified X-ray technologist. In June of 2004, he pursued an opportunity for advancement and moved to Interventional Radiology Department. Soon after, he earned his board certification as a vascular interventional technologist.

Valentin continued to broaden his knowledge by attending Thomas Jefferson University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in radiologic science. As part of his education, he trained in CT scan and successfully passed the CT registry boards. Valentin makes significant contributions to the organization as he continues to expand his skill set, striving always to deliver the best possible patient care.

Shore Memorial Emergency Department Physician Roberta May, D.O., said, "On a busy evening shift, the ED X-ray machine broke down. All patients were either transported downstairs to the radiology department or offered portable studies. Ed, whose responsibility was CT scanning, jumped in to assist the X-ray technologist and performed several studies himself. This shows a great team player attitude and an ability to perform multiple duties. This helped the ED patient flow and cut down on delays."

Valentin is currently working toward his master’s degree in radiologic science.

Valentin currently lives in Vineland with his wife and two children. In his spare time he enjoys working out, fixing cars and snowboarding.
