Shore Medical Center Makes $3,000 Holiday Donations To Both Mainland Regional and Holy Spirit High School Musical Programs

December 16, 2011

The Shore Medical Center’s Surgical Pavilion has been alive with the holiday spirit and healing power of music this December as musicians and vocalists from two local high schools – Mainland Regional High School of Linwood, NJ, and Holy Spirit High School of Absecon, NJ – performed holiday selections for patients, visitors and hospital staff. As a thank you for their performances, Shore President & CEO Ron Johnson presented each school with a $3,000 donation in support of their music programs.

“At Shore Medical Center, we are passionate about the healing power of music,” Johnson said. “In giving of their time, these students have played a valuable role in lifting the spirits of our patients, visitors and staff during this festive season.”

Members of Holy Spirit High School’s Tri-M Music Honor Society kicked off Shore’s holiday music series on Wednesday, November 30, performing a blend of holiday tunes. Tri-M musicians from Mainland Regional High School followed them on Tuesday, December 6. Holy Spirit students will return at 6 pm on Thursday, December 15. Mainland students will next perform at 7 pm on Wednesday, December 21.

These and other December holiday musical performances are part of an initiative by the Spirit of Shore Healing Arts Committee. The Spirit of Shore is committed to creating an environment that promotes healing of the mind, body and spirit.
