The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Shore Memorial Hospital’s campus expansion—including the new 135,000 square foot Surgical Pavilion with new operating and recovery rooms.
Date: Wednesday, October 29
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: Shore Memorial Hospital
Festivities for the groundbreaking include a sand sculpture of the new Surgical Pavilion by local artist and sand sculptor John Gowdy and music provided by an ensemble of vocalists and musicians from chARTer Tech High School.
Shore Memorial’s new operating rooms will be over twice the size of the current operating room space and will be outfitted with the latest technology. The new pavilion will be home to all of Shore Memorial’s Surgical Services Department including registration, pre-admission testing, surgical reception and the post-anesthesia care unit. Other services including the CardioVascular Institute, endoscopy services, IV therapy and sterile processing also will be located in the new building.
Completion of the expansion plans is estimated for late 2010.
