Auxiliary's Annual Tree of Lights Ceremony

December 08, 2008

Holiday cheer was in the air for the Auxiliary of Shore Memorial’s Annual Holiday Tree of Lights Ceremony on December 7.

A variety of musical entertainment was provided by the ChARTer Tech choir, the Shore Memorial Hospital holiday choir, St. Joe’s Brownies—the Jinglettes, and Shore Memorial employees Eddie Smith Jr. and Michael Green.

Members of the community were invited to designate a light in honor or remembrance of their loved ones with a $10, $20, or $50 donation. Memorial or honorary donations are on display in the Auxiliary’s Tree of Lights book in the hospital lobby throughout the holiday season.

This year’s Tree of Lights raised nearly $4,000 toward the Auxiliary’s $2.5 million pledge toward Shore Tomorrow—The Campaign for Shore Memorial Hospital.

“The Tree of Lights is always a nice way to finish the year for the Auxiliary,” says Cathy Fennen, director of the Auxiliary and Wellness Program at Shore Memorial Hospital. “We find that around the holidays people are looking for a way to remember their loved ones or honor someone special in their lives.”
