Hall of Fame Coach Lou Holtz To Be Featured Speaker at 25th Annual Stainton Society Thank You Brunch

December 18, 2013

The Shore Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce that renowned college football coach, television analyst and author Lou Holtz will be the featured speaker at the 25th annual Stainton Society Thank You Brunch in Atlantic City, NJ, on May 4, 2014.

Members of the Stainton Society, the Foundation’s largest fundraising organization, and the Stainton Associates, whose membership is comprised of the next generation of philanthropic leaders, will be invited to listen to Holtz as he discusses how to overcome steep challenges with hard work, discipline and a tenacious spirit.

Best known as the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for 11 years from 1985 to 1996, Holtz compiled a 243-127-7 record during a 26-year coaching career that also featured stops at North Carolina State, Arkansas and South Carolina. He led Notre Dame to a national championship in 1988, and is the only coach in the history of college football to take six different teams to a bowl game. He was selected for the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.

Since his retirement from coaching in 2004, Holtz has embarked on a successful second career as a media personality, motivational speaker and author. During college football season, he is a fixture on ESPN studio and game coverage. Holtz is also the New York Times best-selling author of “The Fighting Spirit,” “Winning Everyday: A Game Plan for Success” and “Wins, Losses and Lessons.”

“Lou Holtz is a proven winner on the field and in life, and I look forward to hearing his insights at the 2014 Stainton Society Thank You Brunch,” said Foundation Chief Development Officer Tom Mundell. “As the Foundation marks 25 years of giving people hope, I can’t think of anyone more qualified to rally the community around our mission of support for Shore Medical Center.”

Stainton Society and Stainton Associates members play a vital role in the growth of Shore Medical Center and its continuing mission to provide the highest quality care to the community.
