October 13, 2014

For consistently delivering outstanding, patient-centered service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s Mission, Vision and Values, Shore is proud to announce that Registrar Van McKenzie has been named the medical center’s October 2014 Employee of the Month.

McKenzie joined Shore in September of 2007 as a registrar, first in the Emergency Department and later at Shore’s Health and Conference Center. For the past year he has worked as a registrar in the CardioVascular Institute. He is a recipient of multiple employee recognition awards and has developed a reputation as a valuable resource for others who always puts patient needs first.

“Van raises the bar for customer service and patient care, setting a standard for quality that we should all aspire to,” said Manager of Patient Access Laura Harvey, who nominated McKenzie for this award. “His easy going personality puts people at ease, and he always goes the extra mile to help others.”

McKenzie lives in Atlantic City, NJ. In his spare time, McKenzie enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with his family, which includes a brother, sister and niece. His recognition as Employee of the Month came as a pleasant surprise, and he is deeply appreciative of the honor.

“I only treat people the way that I want to be treated in keeping with Shore’s mission statement that ‘We care for and respect all patients, their families and each other,’” McKenzie said. “I do, and it comes from my heart.”
