The Auxiliary of Shore Medical Center (SMC) was presented with the 6th Annual Surgical Chairman’s Award in a special ceremony held on Friday, November 14, 2014. This prestigious award is presented annually to a physician, nurse, organization, administrator or community member who has gone above and beyond to support Shore's surgical program.
In 2013, The Auxiliary completed their pledge to the medical center of $2.5 million over five years, with a significant portion of the funds they raise going toward surgical services at SMC. This year, The Auxiliary made another pledge of $2.5 million.
The Auxiliary of Shore Medical Center is Shore’s original fundraising organization. Part of the Shore Medical Center Foundation, the Auxiliary is made up of dedicated volunteers who work throughout the year on initiatives that include the hospital gift shop, thrift shops, golf tournaments and other community events.
