“BRAYCES” Smile for a Lifetime Foundation Chapter Taps Shore Medical Center CFO David Hughes and Shore Memorial Health System Board of Trustees Chairman David Beyel for its Board

November 10, 2015

Community leaders David Hughes and David Beyel have been named to the "BRAYCES" Smile for a Lifetime foundation chapter. Smile For A Lifetime is a national nonprofit organization that provides free orthodontic care to children that otherwise would not be able to afford it. In turn, the children are responsible for completing a community service project. While "BRAYCES" has always been a philanthropic organization, having donated several hundred thousand dollars in patient care since its beginnings in 1977, the group felt it was time to establish a local chapter for "Smile for A Lifetime."

"We believe that a beautiful smile can increase self-confidence, inspire hope and make a dramatic difference in a child’s life," said Dr. Robert James Bray. "We know that in order to be successful, we need the support of caring, local leaders, and that is why we are so pleased to have David Hughes and David Beyel on our Board."

"I applaud Dr. Bray and the 'BRAYCES' organization for their generous donation of patient care services, and I am proud to be a part of such a noble cause," said David Beyel, Shore Memorial Health System Board of Trustees Chairman. "This is another great example of the passion and commitment of those associated with Shore Medical Center have in our community."

"The team at 'BRAYCES' has shown an incredible dedication to Somers Point and South Jersey, so when they asked me to join this Board I was happy to do it," said David Hughes, a Somers Point resident who serves as Chief Financial Officer of Shore Medical Center. "These children will receive care that was previously out of reach, and in turn, will contribute something positive to the community. In addition to a great smile, these children will learn the value of working hard to achieve a goal, and the blessing of giving back to your community."

"BRAYCES" Orthodontics prides itself on providing the highest quality of orthodontic treatment while also giving back to its community.  With offices located in Brigantine, Absecon, Somers Point, Egg Harbor Township, Mays Landing, Wildwood, and Marmora, "BRAYCES" goes above and beyond to remain an active resident of South Jersey.

The "BRAYCES" Smile for a Lifetime Foundation Chapter was officially launched on Tuesday, November 3 at the Knife & Fork Inn in Atlantic City.
