Shore Medical Center honored members of its exceptional staff on May 10 during the 2016 Caregiver Recognition Dinner held at Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point, NJ.
Shore’s success is built upon the efforts of the passionate men and women dedicated to providing superior, patient-centered care. The annual Caregiver Recognition Dinner is one outlet in which Shore says thank you to its staff for all they do. Employees celebrating milestone anniversaries at Shore were honored during the evening, as well as the recipients of annual Spirit of Shore Caregiver of the Year, DiOrio Award and Chairman’s awards.
Shore President and CEO Ron Johnson presented the Spirit of Shore Caregiver of the Year Award to Nursing Administration Administrative Assistant Diane Severino, of Millville, NJ, for her actions that exemplify the Planetree model of patient-centered care.
Shore Medical Center Board of Trustees Chairman Gerald J. Corcoran, Esq., presented the medical center’s prestigious Chairman’s Award, which recognizes employees for their contributions and commitment to Shore in both clinical and non-clinical areas. This year’s recipients were Pharmacy Lead Tech / Automation Coordinator Gerard “Gee” Welsh, CPhT, of Egg Harbor Township, and Registrar Van McKenzie, of Somers Point.
Janet DiOrio Galante (pictured above), daughter of the late Joseph DiOrio, presented the DiOrio Award to Linwood resident Christina Kozmor, RN, M.E.d., Director of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The DiOrio Award was created in 2014 to honor the individual who best embodies the ideals set forth by Joseph DiOrio, who in his five decades as a member of Shore’s Board of Trustees established an outstanding track record of service.
