Shore Medical Center is proud to recognize Emergency Department nurse Funda Dalkirmaz, RN, as its August 2016 Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore’s patients. Shore established the Guardian Angel Program to enable patients to say thank you to a special caregiver through a donation to Shore Medical Center.
Dalkirmaz, of Somers Point, spent her entire nursing career at Shore Medical Center, coming to the hospital in 2009 upon graduation.
“Funda is a compassionate and caring nurse who places the patients and their families first,” says Nurse Manager Annmarie Guerrieri, RN, BSN, who oversees Shore’s Telemetry, Emergency and Pediatric departments. “She’s also a team player and very supportive of her department and coworkers. She is often involved in additional projects to support the hospital’s mission.”
A patient Dalkirmaz supported recently wrote to Shore to thank her for her efforts.
“I found Funda exceptionally considerate and cordial, explaining every procedure carefully, this of course did a great deal to reduce my anxiety,” the patient said.
In addition to working at Shore, Dalkirmaz also currently serves as a Captain in the Air Force Reserves.
The Guardian Angel program recognizes anyone who works at Shore Medical Center and makes an impact and difference in a patient's care. Guardian Angels are recognized amongst their peers and are presented with a special Guardian Angel pin at Shore Medical Center’s annual pinning ceremony.
