Guest Service Representative David McLaughlin Named Shore Medical Center’s September Guardian Angel of the Month

Shore Medical Center is proud to recognize Unidine Guest Service Representative David McLaughlin, of Ventnor, as its September 2016 Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore’s patients. Shore established the Guardian Angel Program to enable patients to say thank you to a special caregiver through a donation to Shore Medical Center.

As a Guest Service Representative for Unidine Corporation, which manages Shore’s culinary services, McLaughlin assists patients through all aspects of dining, from choosing their meal, ensuring meal accuracy and delivery, assisting with meal set up, and ensuring they are satisfied. 

McLaughlin joined the dining services team in 2014 after working in the casino industry for many years. His customer service skills are superior, and he always goes out of his way to take care of his patients. 

Unidine General Manager Paul Montesano says McLaughlin is a great asset to the food service department.  

“I have received many great comments from patients and their families on the service David provides. He gets to know his patients by their first names, and spends quality time speaking with them whenever he can,” Montesano says. 

A patient McLaughlin assisted recently wrote to Shore to thank him for his efforts.

“My care was outstanding and the food was above what one would expect in a hospital.  David, my Dining Host, was so kind, considerate and caring,” the patient said.

The Guardian Angel program recognizes anyone who works at Shore Medical Center and makes an impact and difference in a patient's care. Guardian Angels are recognized amongst their peers and are presented with a special Guardian Angel pin at Shore Medical Center’s annual pinning ceremony.
