Beginning December 21, Shore Memorial Hospital will be offering the H1N1 vaccine at its Quick Care Centers in Egg Harbor Township and Ocean City while supplies last.
The vaccine will be given to anyone ages 10 to 24 years.
Persons 25-64 must meet the following eligibility guidelines per the Center for Disease Control:
- Pregnant Women
- Persons who live with or provide care for infants under the age of six months, including parents, siblings and daycare providers.
- Persons age 25 through 64 years of age who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza. These conditions include chronic pulmonary (including asthma), cardiovascular (excluding hypertension), renal, hepatic, cognitive, neurological, neuromuscular, hematologic, metabolic (including diabetes) and immunosuppressed (including conditions caused by medications or HIV).
The vaccine is $25 per person and free for Shore Memorial employees and their families. Billing will be done for Medicare patients only.
The Ocean City Quick Care Center, located at 914 Haven Avenue, will offer the vaccine from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Egg Harbor Township Quick Care Center, located in the Harbor Village Square shopping center on the corner of Ocean Heights Avenue and Zion Road, will offer the vaccine from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
