Shore Medical Center and its Center for Family Caregivers are pleased to offer a new monthly, one-hour in-person support program to help you learn and connect with others facing similar struggles, from grief and loss to healthy aging, and much more. Sessions will be led by social workers and other local experts.

Wednesday, August 10, 3-4PM: Yes, You Can Write a Book!
Have you ever wanted to write a book but didn’t know how to start?  Do you think you’re really not “a writer”? Whether it’s a journal to record your family history only for your loved ones to read, or a story you always wanted to put on paper to have published, this seminar will go over what you need to know to become an author.  You may be surprised to find out that, indeed, you are a writer.  Presented by Angelic Health Chaplain Chris J. Gregas, an avid writer who has published 24 books regarding hospice, travel, and spiritual guidance.

Wednesday, September 14, 2022: Understanding How We talk to Ourselves about Ourselves: Guilt Verses Shame
Participants will explore how shame impacts our society, as well as how we tell our own story to ourselves and to others. Feelings of guilt are common following the experience of loss and can make the experience even more heavy. Shame is the mud on our tires that slows us down as we stride towards peace and self-love. Understanding the difference between guilt and shame, and how it influences how we see ourselves can be powerful as we navigate grief, anxiety, and depression. Presented by Dana Hayes MSW, LCSW, of Angelic Health.
