Medical Explorers

Medical Explorer Post 147 at Shore Medical Center is sponsored by the medical center, consistently since 1992. Members must be 14 or over and have completed 8th grade.  Co-Ed Posts are administered and chartered through the local council of the Boy Scouts of America, an extension of  Learning for Life- Exploring www.learningforlife.org and www.exploring.org.

Post 147 meets on the first Wed. of each month during the school year, reconvening each September with meetings October through May plus an end of year celebration the first week of June. Meetings may include speakers, topics, hands on/behind the scenes, and team building led by elected officers.

Members are encouraged to participate in additional community service activities planned throughout the year. Those interested in pursuing a career within the health professions surely gain a broader understanding and develop even greater compassion when actively engaged.

New members are welcome at any time throughout the year, and encouraged to contact an advisor to verify date/location of the next meeting. A membership fee is collected annually.

Meetings are typically held the first Wed of each month (Oct June), 5:30pm -7pm (prompt start), in DiOrio Hall at Shore Medical Center.

Please contact one of our advisors if you are interested in joining.
