Laboratory Manager Nancy Graham of Egg Harbor Township Receives Shore Medical Center’s Leadership Profile Award

January 18, 2018

Shore Medical Center is pleased to announce that Laboratory Manager and Point of Care Test Coordinator Nancy Graham, MBA, MT (ASCP), DLM, of Egg Harbor Township, is the recipient of the medical center’s most recent Leadership Profile Award.  This award is presented several times each year to a manager for exemplary job performance and exhibiting characteristics most valued in leaders within the organization.

Graham joined Shore Medical Center in April 2016 and quickly established herself as an excellent leader, which she demonstrates daily in her interactions not only with her staff but with other departments as well.  Her colleagues describe her as energetic, organized, and an excellent communicator who is fully engaged with Shore’s mission, vision and values.

In the year-and-a-half since she joined the Shore team, Graham’s leadership skills have made an impact both within her department and throughout the hospital. In the laboratory, Graham has implemented many positive changes to help better utilize resources while continuing to provide quality care. Her leadership skills and expertise have extended beyond the lab as well through her role as a key member of five organizational committees. Graham was also a key member of the grant writing team that was awarded funding from the NJ Department of Health to improve biosafety in the laboratory.

Kathy Thompson, Director of Laboratory Services, says Graham has been a wonderful addition to the laboratory management team.

“Nancy’s expertise is second to none, and her willingness to share knowledge with others to boost the performance of the entire organization has quickly made her an invaluable member of our management team,” Thompson said.

Graham was deeply honored to receive the Leadership Profile Award.

“There are specific qualities that I embrace in my work life.  I embrace new ideas and look for process improvements in our everyday work.  Consistent with the mission of Shore Medical Center, I try to create a team culture of respect as demonstrated by my own personal example. I am open to new ideas, new initiatives, and new opportunities to grow and expand our laboratory services to the community we serve,” Graham says.

Graham completed her bachelor’s degree in biology and went on to receive her Medical Technology certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP). She also has a master’s degree in business administration, and is an ASCP certified Diplomate in Laboratory Management.

Graham enjoys traveling, boating and spending time with friends and family, including her husband, William Graham, III, and son, William Graham, IV.
