Shore Medical Center is proud to recognize Manal Gerges, guest service representative in the food service department, as its April Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore’s patients. The Guardian Angel Program was established to enable members of the community to say thank you to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center.
Gerges has been working in the food service department at Shore for 15 years. In her role, she assists patients in making their meal selections, answering any questions and helping them choose their physician’s recommended menu items.
Saba Zahid, RD, LDN, patient experience manager, Unidine Corporation, which operates Shore’s dietary services, says Gerges is known for her caring and gentle demeanor with patients.
“Manal always has a smile on her face. She often shares that it is important for her to care for her patients as if they were her own parents,” Zahid says. “She’s pleasant, easy to get along with, and a team player.”
A patient Gerges recently assisted made a donation to Shore Medical Center in Gerges’ name through its Guardian Angel program. The patient had these words to share:
“It was so obvious to me what a caring and genuine person Manal is. She was so accommodating and couldn’t do enough. Thank you for helping to make my stay a pleasant one!”
Gerges lives locally with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family
The Guardian Angel program recognizes anyone who works at Shore Medical Center and makes an impact and difference in your care or experience. Guardian Angels are recognized amongst their peers and are presented with a special Guardian Angel pin at Shore Medical Center’s annual pinning ceremony.
