Shore Medical Center's Material Management team has played an instrumental role in keeping staff and patients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The team of #shorehealthcareheroes has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep the hospital well supplied with PPEs. In many cases, there was a worldwide shortage not just regionally or nationally.

"Without proper equipment, our hospital cannot function," said Bob Robertson, Administrative Director of Logistics. "Our Materials Management team has been faced with unique challenges of securing supplies that have been incredibly high demand during this pandemic. Our heroes on the front line depend on us to protect them. So, if that means that we have to scan the globe for particular equipment then we do it."

Thanks to the great work of the Materials Management team, Shore Medical Center has been well supplied with PPEs, other medical supplies, food and more during the pandemic. The team is not only responsible for securing these items, but also they needed to develop mechanisms to manage and protect the inventory.

"On behalf of the team, I sincerely thank all of our vendors and distributors for their help and dedication to keeping us well supplied," added Robertson. "Special thanks to all of the Shore community who have really come together for us. So many individuals and  organizations have donated face shields, caps, homemade masks and food for our caregivers.

"The community and staff at Shore have really come together during the toughest of times, but I'm not surprised. We have a special team here, and our community knows that we are always here to care for them," added Robertson, whose career at Shore began in 1989. "I am proud of our Materials Management team and everyone associated with our organization.
