Endorectal Staging

Endorectal Staging is the process of finding out how far a cancer has spread - how deeply it has grown into the wall of the intestine, whether or not it has reached nearby structures and whether or not it has spread to the lymph nodes or distant organs. Treatment and the outlook for recovery depend on the stage of the cancer. For early cancer, surgery may be all that is needed. For more advanced cancer, other treatments like chemotherapy or radiation therapy may be used.
