With its seven rooms, equipped with heated recliners and televisions, the Outpatient Infusion Therapy Suite is able to treat patients by providing a full spectrum of infusions in a safe and compassionate environment.
Patients may possibly need the services of the IV Therapy team for a number of reasons. They may come in to receive antibiotics or biologics that must be delivered through an IV or if they require a blood transfusion. Patients with autoimmune disorders like MS, rheumatoid arthritis, or Crohn’s disease will need monthly infusions. Patients receive chemotherapy as well at the Shore Outpatients Infusion Therapy.
The team works as one unit to care for patients. One of the registered nurses on the IV Therapy team will draw labs for patients with ports, deliver an immunosuppressant such as Rhogam. During the pandemic, they were a part of the battle against Covid 19, infusing patients needing monoclonal antibodies with a one-time dose.
Some patients will need the services of the Outpatients Infusion Therapy on a regular basis and others, only once but each patient and each visit is an opportunity to help patients in their wellness journey, close to home.
The Shore Medical Center Outpatients Infusion Therapy Center is open to treat patients’ infusion needs 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Call 609-653-3508 to schedule an appointment or for more information.
