Endoscopy Technician John Ingersoll of Mays Landing is Shore Medical Center’s September Employee of the Month

For consistently delivering outstanding service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s mission, vision and values, Endoscopy Technician John Ingersoll of Mays Landing has been named its September Employee of the Month.

Ingersoll began his career at Shore Medical Center in 1988 as an orderly, and then trained to become an endoscopy technician. He went on to work in other facilities, but returned to Shore as an endoscopy technician one year ago.

As an endoscopy technician, Ingersoll is responsible for maintaining the inventory of endoscopy equipment and supplies, ensuring proper equipment functionality, and preparing procedure rooms. He also maintains and cleans endoscopic instruments, transports patients, assists medical staff during procedures, and more.

Paul Sikora, RN, endoscopy manager, says that Ingersoll is a dedicated employee with a vast knowledge of endoscopy.

“John was especially helpful, poised and professional during our recent Joint Commission Survey when questioned by a surveyor about our scope cleaning and infection control process,” Sikora said. “John’s love for sharing his knowledge shines when he is around his endoscopy colleagues, especially newer team members. He is truly a mentor and a valued member of the endoscopy family.
