For consistently delivering outstanding service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s mission, vision and values, Nurse Lacey Straub, MSN, of Egg Harbor Township has been named its August Employee of the Month.
Straub has worked for Shore Medical Center since 2014. She cares for patients on Shore’s 5 Stainton Unit and is a highly skilled and compassionate nurse who is respected and appreciated by her patients and colleagues.
5 Stainton Nurse Manager Jen Cressey says, “Lacey is a great team player and always ready to help her coworkers. She does a fantastic job with her patients and all patients on the floor each day. She is my ‘go-to’ when we have new staff that need education or a boost. Lacey is an absolute pleasure to work with and is always looking for ways to improve the patient’s stay. We are lucky to have her on the Shore team.”
Cressey went on to share how one patient raved about Straub recently in a letter to Shore CEO Ron Johnson.
“The patient greatly appreciated the compassion and concern Straub had for them, and how well she explained the details about their condition, which proved to be a lifesaver. They also commented on how they observed her training a new nurse on her first day. They appreciated how Lacey provided reasons and substance behind every instruction, saying ‘She really puts her heart and soul into everything she does and is excellent and superior at her job.’”
Straub is married with two boys and enjoys spending time outdoors at the beach or in her garden. She also serves as a nursing instructor at Stockton University.
