Shore Medical Center Names 5 Hayes Nurse Jennifer Gannon, RN, its February Guardian Angel

Shore Medical Center announced today that Jennifer Gannon, RN, of Egg Harbor Township has been named its February Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to its patients. Shore established the Guardian Angel program to enable community members to say 'thank you' to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center in their honor.

Gannon began her career at Shore in October 2021 on the 5 Hayes Unit, where she cares for patients hospitalized for a wide range of illnesses, or who are preparing for or recovering from surgery.

Kelly Duma, RN, BSN, NE-BC, manager of the 5 Hayes Unit, says that Gannon joined the 5 Hayes team as a new graduate nurse, and has quickly become a valued member of the unit.

“Jennifer is a hardworking and dedicated nurse, and someone our whole team can rely on. She has a positive outlook and is just a pleasure to have on 5 Hayes,” Duma said.

Gannon was recognized with a Guardian Angel award by a grateful family who she supported recently. A family member said, “Jenn went above and beyond to make sure my sister-in-law and our family were taken care of the last few days our family member had. Jenn guided us with such warmth and compassion during a very difficult time. We truly feel blessed that Jenn was our nurse and so grateful for how she supported our entire family.”

Gannon lives in Egg Harbor Township and enjoys spending time with her family.

Shore Medical Center’s Guardian Angel program provides an opportunity for patients and families to recognize anyone at Shore who makes a difference in their care or experience. Guardian Angels are recognized among their peers and presented with a Guardian Angel pin at Shore’s annual pinning ceremony.
