Shore Medical Center Names Nurse Aide Winnie Dennis of Atlantic City its August Guardian Angel of the Month

August 07, 2023

Shore Medical Center announced today that Nurse Aide Winnie Dennis of Atlantic City has been named its August Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to its patients. Shore established the Guardian Angel program to enable community members to say 'thank you' to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center in their honor.

Dennis is a Nurse Aide on Shore’s 5 Stainton Unit, where she has been caring for patients for her entire 12-year career with Shore.

Jennifer Cressey, BSN, RN, Nurse Manager of 5 Stainton, says that Dennis is reliable, trustworthy and hard working.

“Winnie is a diligent worker who keeps tabs on all patients on the unit, making sure they are well taken care of. She is a great team player and the nurses rely on her heavily to complete their patient care,” Cressey says.

A Shore patient recently made a Guardian Angel donation to the medical center in Dennis’s honor, and had this to say about her:

“Winnie greeted me with a huge smile every time she entered my room for the 15 days I spent in the hospital. She has such a positive attitude and cheerful personality that would make anyone feel better.  Winnie, thank you again for lifting my spirits and for the great care you provided me!”

Shore Medical Center’s Guardian Angel program provides an opportunity for patients and families to recognize anyone at Shore who makes a difference in their care or experience. Guardian Angels are recognized among their peers and presented with a Guardian Angel pin at Shore’s annual pinning ceremony.
