Shore Medical Center announced today that Telemetry Clinical Supervisor Diana Arango Ruiz of Ventnor City has been named its February Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional patient care. Shore established the Guardian Angel program to enable community members to say 'thank you' to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center in their honor.
Arango Ruiz began working at Shore only a year-and-a-half ago on the Telemetry Unit, a specialized floor of the hospital where patients are continuously monitored for heart activity and vital signs.
Jennifer Young, RN, ICU/Telemetry Nurse Manager, says that Arango Ruiz is a caring and experienced nurse whose dedication to patient care and clinical excellence is evident every day.
“As our Telemetry Clinical Supervisor, Diana uses her vast experience and medical-surgical expertise to mentor and guide newer nurses, helping them grow in both skill and confidence. Her kindness, attention to detail, and resourcefulness make her an invaluable leader on our team, and we are grateful for the compassion and knowledge she brings to our unit.”
A patient recently made a Guardian Angel donation to the medical center in Arango Ruiz’s honor and had this to say about her:
“Our family would like to express our gratitude to Charge Nurse Diana for taking excellent care of our family member. Thanks to Diana, our father spent his most challenging day at Shore feeling comfortable, supported and confident in his recovery. Diana demonstrated outstanding professional skills and bedside manners and we are so grateful for everything she did!”
Outside of work, Arango Ruiz enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies and reading.
