Shore Medical Center announced today that Physical Therapist Erin Bennis, MSPT, DPT, of Linwood has been named its June Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore's patients. Shore established the Guardian Angel program to enable community members to say 'thank you' to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center in their honor.
Bennis has been with Shore for 10 years, beginning first in acute care physical therapy in the hospital and transitioning to outpatient physical therapy six years ago. Outpatient Rehabilitation Director Jennifer Pesce, PT, DPT, says Bennis is extremely intuitive and creative in her treatment planning.
“Erin always keeps in mind her patient’s goals, interests and motivations to help them achieve the best treatment outcome,” Pesce said. “Her quick wit is one of her most endearing qualities and helps put her patients at ease and engages them in their recovery process.”
A grateful patient who honored Bennis with a Guardian Angel recognition said of her, “Erin was absolutely wonderful! From her expert guidance and support I have made tremendous progress with my mobility which has enabled me to be self-sufficient again. I am forever grateful.”
An avid runner, skier and fitness enthusiast, Bennis makes exercise a regular part of her life. She recently completed the AC Rock & Roll Half Marathon, and works out regularly in the early morning hours with her brother and sisters-in-law. Erin and her husband live in Linwood with their two children, Will and Josephine, and their dog Brownie.
Shore Medical Center’s Guardian Angel program provides an opportunity for patients and families to recognize anyone at Shore who makes a difference in their care or experience. Guardian Angels are recognized among their peers and presented with a Guardian Angel pin at Shore’s annual pinning ceremony.
