Shore Medical Center Names Radiology Technical Aide Elias Colon its April Guardian Angel of the Month

Shore Medical Center announced today that Radiology Technical Aide Elias Colon of Mays Landing has been named its April Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to patients. Shore established the Guardian Angel program to enable community members to say 'thank you' to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center in their honor.

Colon has been working for Shore Medical Center since 2005. He cares for patients in the CAT Scan department, and strives to make a difference in their experience even if it’s during a short trip to and from a testing area. His immediate supervisor, Susan Paul, shared: “Eli is an invaluable team member. He is well respected by his peers and coworkers, not only in Radiology-CT but throughout Shore Medical Center. He has an outstanding work ethic and is reliable and dependable. He truly goes above and beyond for his patients. We appreciate all that he does and are grateful for his dedication to our patients and staff.”

A patient who made a Guardian Angel donation to Shore Medical Center in Colon’s honor had this to say about him:

“After a freak horseback riding accident, my husband took me to Shore’s Emergency Department which was my very first time. I was very nervous and didn’t know what to expect. Eli was so kind, caring, showed empathy and thoughtfulness in his responses which put me at ease and made me feel as though I was the only patient. Eli truly represents the mission and values of Shore! Thank you so much Eli, for all that you do and the care you provided.”

In his spare time, Colon enjoys traveling, especially to New York, and rooting for the NY Giants. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Shore Medical Center’s Guardian Angel program provides an opportunity for patients and families to recognize anyone at Shore who makes a difference in their care or experience. Guardian Angels are recognized among their peers and presented with a Guardian Angel pin at Shore’s annual pinning ceremony.
