Shore Medical Center recently named Telemetry Technician and Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) Katie Higbee its February Employee of the Month for consistently delivering outstanding service and embodying the organization's mission, vision, and values.
A resident of Absecon, Higbee began her career at Shore in 2004. In her dual role, Higbee plays a crucial role in both patient care and and ensuring efficient communication and organization within the telemetry unit.
Jennifer Young, RN, Manager of the ICU and Telemetry departments, says, “Katie is skilled, knowledgeable, and highly organized. is a valued resource for new staff, serving as a preceptor for both HUCS and telemetry techs, including those in the Emergency Department. She collaborates with leadership to organize quarterly HUC meetings and ensures timely communication.”
Outside of work, Higbee enjoys being with her family and friends, reading, working out and relaxing with her puppy and cats.
